We decided to utilise the most common wooden element - glued pine timber, an element employed in every fair booth project, and that could be utilised even after the event. Additionally, we aimed to create a structure that could be assembled and disassembled, and had an emphasis on upcycling.

As a member of the Smart Design Expo design team, I collaborated with on-site carpenters on a daily basis. The integration of design and real craftsmanship served as our main inspiration. Our objective was to showcase the company's finest skills - true craftsmanship that was not falling behind in today's world.

Responsibilities and tasks

Understanding the client's brand and requirements;
Concept development and design: sketching, modelling, detailed drawings;
Material selection and budgeting;
Coordination with vendors and contractors;
Project management;
On-site supervision

The outcome was a modular system that could be constructed without the use of nails or screws. We united sustainability, craftsmanship, and technology to develop a minimalist and dynamic film to showcase our work.

The project was awarded the Best of Show - Exhibitor Awards at Euroshop 2020 in Dusseldorf in the category of small booths.
